What is the standard vanity height?
The standard bathroom vanity height in the US is 32 inches — 81.28 cm. The traditional standard was 30–32 inches, and comfort-height vanities run 34–36 inches. A low vanity is 28–30 inches and suits children's bathrooms, small powder rooms and shorter users. A standard vanity is 30–34 inches and suits most adults. A tall vanity is 34–40 inches and suits tall users and custom builds. A vanity that is too low forces a tall user to hunch over the sink; a vanity that is too high makes a short user reach up and splash. The height is measured from the finished bathroom floor to the top of the vanity countertop, not to the top of the sink — a vessel sink sits on top of the counter and adds several inches, so the cabinet underneath is often a few inches lower than the finished rim height. Vanity height is measured in inches in the US and centimetres elsewhere — and 1 inch is 2.54 cm exactly.
Three things about the model are worth stating plainly. First, 32 inches is 81.28 cm — 32 × 2.54 = 81.28. Second, a 32-inch vanity matches one type — standard vanity. And third, a 28-inch vanity matches one type — low vanity; all listed in Accuracy & limitations.
The worked example, line by line
Setup: a vanity height of 32 inches.
Line 1 — the centimetres. The centimetres are 32 × 2.54 = 81.28 cm.
Line 2 — the matching type. 32 inches falls in the 30–34 inch range, so it matches standard vanity — one type.
Line 3 — the check. 32 × 2.54 = 81.28 cm, and 32 inches is the US standard vanity height.

The reverses, worked backwards
Smallest height for the cm figure to reach 80.00 cm: At the displayed 31.50 in the figures are Height 31.50 in; 80.01 cm; matching types: standard vanity. At the displayed 31.50 in the cm figure is 80.01 cm (unrounded 80.01 cm — exact, so 80.01 cm is the unrounded value) — and 31.50 in is the smallest hundredth that reaches 80.00 cm. At 31.49 in the figure is 79.98 cm (unrounded 79.9846 cm) — below 80.00 cm — so 31.50 in is the smallest height for the cm figure to reach 80.00 cm.
Largest height for the cm figure to STAY at or below 90.00 cm: At the displayed 35.43 in the figures are Height 35.43 in; 89.99 cm (unrounded 89.9922 cm); matching types: tall vanity. At the displayed 35.43 in the cm figure is 89.99 cm (unrounded 89.9922 cm) — and 35.43 in is the largest hundredth that stays at or below 90.00 cm. At 35.44 in the figure is 90.02 cm (unrounded 90.0176 cm) — above 90.00 cm — so 35.43 in is the largest height for the cm figure to stay at or below 90.00 cm.
Smallest height to match a standard vanity: At the displayed 30.00 in the figures are Height 30 in; 76.20 cm; matching types: standard vanity. At the displayed 30.00 in the cm figure is 76.20 cm and it matches a standard vanity. At 29.99 in the figure is 76.17 cm (unrounded 76.1746 cm) and it does not match a standard vanity — it still matches a low vanity — so 30.00 in is the smallest height to match a standard vanity.
Smallest height for the cm figure to reach 85.00 cm: At the displayed 33.47 in the figures are Height 33.47 in; 85.01 cm (unrounded 85.0138 cm); matching types: standard vanity. At the displayed 33.47 in the cm figure is 85.01 cm (unrounded 85.0138 cm) — and 33.47 in is the smallest hundredth that reaches 85.00 cm. At 33.46 in the figure is 84.99 cm (unrounded 84.9884 cm) — below 85.00 cm — so 33.47 in is the smallest height for the cm figure to reach 85.00 cm.
Largest height for the cm figure to STAY at or below 95.00 cm: At the displayed 37.40 in the figures are Height 37.40 in; 95.00 cm (unrounded 94.996 cm); matching types: tall vanity. At the displayed 37.40 in the cm figure is 95.00 cm (unrounded 94.996 cm) — and 37.40 in is the largest hundredth that stays at or below 95.00 cm. At 37.41 in the figure is 95.02 cm (unrounded 95.0214 cm) — above 95.00 cm — so 37.40 in is the largest height for the cm figure to stay at or below 95.00 cm.
Smallest height to match a tall vanity: At the displayed 34.00 in the figures are Height 34 in; 86.36 cm; matching types: tall vanity. At the displayed 34.00 in the cm figure is 86.36 cm and it matches a tall vanity. At 33.99 in the figure is 86.33 cm (unrounded 86.3346 cm) and it does not match a tall vanity — it still matches a standard vanity — so 34.00 in is the smallest height to match a tall vanity.
A warning about the neighbours: every neighbour above sits one hundredth of an inch from the star — and a hundredth of an inch is 0.0254 cm, so the cm figure moves by a hair. A supplier who quotes a height in cm can be off by a hundredth of an inch and still show the same rounded figure. The page prints the unrounded neighbour value in full so the rounding does not mislead you: at 31.49 in the figure is 79.98 cm (unrounded 79.9846 cm); at 35.44 in the figure is 90.02 cm (unrounded 90.0176 cm); at 29.99 in the figure is 76.17 cm (unrounded 76.1746 cm); at 33.46 in the figure is 84.99 cm (unrounded 84.9884 cm); at 37.41 in the figure is 95.02 cm (unrounded 95.0214 cm); at 33.99 in the figure is 86.33 cm (unrounded 86.3346 cm).

Accuracy & limitations
The math is first-principles: the centimetres are the inches times 2.54 — 1 inch is 2.54 cm exactly — and the matching type is the type whose height range the height falls inside — low vanity 28–30, standard vanity 30–34, tall vanity 34–40 — all rounded to two decimals half-up. The height is floored at 0: a negative height is treated as 0 and shows 0.00 cm and no matching type, never a negative number. The ranges are half-open at the top — a height of 30 inches matches standard vanity, not low vanity, and a height of 34 inches matches tall vanity, not standard vanity — except the tall range, which is closed at 40 inches. What the model cannot do is measure your bathroom: the height is measured from the finished bathroom floor to the top of the vanity countertop, not to the top of the sink — a vessel sink sits on top of the counter and adds several inches, so the cabinet underneath is often a few inches lower than the finished rim height; when a supplier quotes a height in centimetres, check whether it includes the sink — some suppliers list the cabinet only, and a vessel sink adds several centimetres; and a vanity that is too low forces a tall user to hunch over the sink, while a vanity that is too high makes a short user reach up and splash. Use it to find the height — then stand at the sink before you buy.

It is floored at 0. A negative height is treated as 0 and shows 0.00 cm and no matching type, never a negative number.
What if my height is between two standard sizes?
It matches the type whose range it falls inside. A 31-inch vanity is 78.74 cm and matches standard vanity. The ranges are half-open at the top — 30 inches matches standard, not low.
Why does 35.44 inches show 90.02 cm?
Because the unrounded cm figure is 90.0176 cm. With a height of 35.44 inches the unrounded cm figure is 90.0176 cm, which rounds half-up to 90.02 cm. The page prints the unrounded value so the rounding does not mislead you.
