On the defaults — a 27-inch 16:9 screen — the real size is 23.53 in by 13.24 in, an area of 311.50 sq in (59.77 cm by 33.62 cm), and the nearest table row is 27 in. The diagonal is the advertised size — the real width and height come from the aspect ratio: a 34-inch 21:9 screen is 31.25 in × 13.39 in, wider but SHORTER than a 34-inch 16:9 at 29.63 in × 16.67 in. Measure the space the screen must fit, not just the diagonal — and remember the bezels add roughly half an inch to an inch beyond the screen itself.
Ultrawide screens trade height for width: a 34-inch 21:9 is 31.25 in wide but only 13.39 in tall, against 29.63 in by 16.67 in for the 34-inch 16:9. Same diagonal, very different shape — check both numbers before you buy.

Width for a 27 in screen: 23.53 in — a 26 in screen is 22.66 in wide. At 27 in the size is 23.53 × 13.24 in, area 311.50 sq in, 59.77 × 33.62 cm, nearest table row 27 in. The star is INCHES.
Height for a 32 in screen: 15.69 in — a 31 in screen is 15.20 in tall. At 32 in the size is 27.89 × 15.69 in, area 437.55 sq in, 70.84 × 39.85 cm, nearest table row 32 in. The star is INCHES.
Area for a 27 in screen: 311.50 sq in — a 26 in screen is 288.85 sq in. At 27 in the size is 23.53 × 13.24 in, area 311.50 sq in, 59.77 × 33.62 cm, nearest table row 27 in. The star is SQUARE INCHES.
Diagonal for a width of 24 in: exact 27.5363 in; displayed 27.54 in → width 24.00 in; 27.53 in → width 23.99 in. At 27.54 in the size is 24.00 × 13.50 in, area 324.09 sq in, 60.97 × 34.29 cm, nearest table row 27 in. The star is INCHES.
Smallest diagonal with a width of 30 in or more: exact 34.4204 in; displayed 34.42 in → width 30.00 in; the smallest TABLE diagonal is 38 in, because a 34 in screen is only 29.63 in wide. At 34.42 in the size is 30.00 × 16.87 in, area 506.24 sq in, 76.20 × 42.86 cm, nearest table row 34 in. The star is INCHES.
21:9 width for a 34 in screen: 31.25 in (height 13.39 in); a 33 in 21:9 screen is 30.33 in wide. At 34 in 21:9 the size is 31.25 × 13.39 in, area 418.55 sq in, 79.38 × 34.02 cm, nearest table row 34 in. The star is INCHES.
The table is first-principles geometry from the diagonal and the aspect ratio — 16:9: w = d × 16/√337, h = d × 9/√337; 21:9: w = d × 21/√522, h = d × 9/√522; area = w × h; cm = in × 2.54 — every figure rounded half-up to 2dp, never hand-typed. The smallest row in the table is 21.5 in: 18.74 × 10.54 in, area 197.52 sq in, 47.60 × 26.77 cm, nearest table row 21.5 in. The largest row is 49 in: 42.71 × 24.02 in, area 1,025.95 sq in, 108.48 × 61.02 cm, nearest table row 49 in. A 20 in screen — 17.43 × 9.81 in, area 170.92 sq in, 44.28 × 24.91 cm, nearest table row 21.5 in — sits below the table; its nearest row is 21.5 in. A 50 in screen — 43.58 × 24.51 in, area 1,068.25 sq in, 110.69 × 62.26 cm, nearest table row 49 in — sits above the table; its nearest row is 49 in. Both are model-level outcomes, not errors: the geometry works for any diagonal. A 27.5 in screen — 23.97 × 13.48 in, area 323.15 sq in, 60.88 × 34.24 cm, nearest table row 27 in — has nearest row 27 in, 0.5 away vs 4.5 to 32. The table is first-principles: the width and height come straight from the diagonal and the aspect ratio — 16:9: w = d × 16/√337, h = d × 9/√337; 21:9: w = d × 21/√522, h = d × 9/√522; area = w × h; cm = in × 2.54 — every figure rounded half-up to 2dp, never hand-typed. What the model cannot do is measure YOUR monitor: it ignores the bezel (roughly half an inch to an inch beyond the screen), the stand, curved screens, and the difference between the advertised diagonal and the measured panel — makers round the diagonal, so two 27-inch monitors can differ by a fraction of an inch. Use the chart to check the fit, then measure the real monitor — bezel included — before you buy the desk or the mount.
Bright Side Kit. "Monitor Size Chart: Width, Height & Area by Screen Size 2026" https://brightoolbox.com/monitor-size-chart/ Accessed October 26, 2026.23.53 in wide and 13.24 in tall. A 27-inch 16:9 screen is 23.53 in by 13.24 in, an area of 311.50 sq in (59.77 cm by 33.62 cm) — and the nearest table row is 27 in.
The ultrawide is wider but shorter. A 34-inch 21:9 screen is 31.25 in by 13.39 in, while a 34-inch 16:9 screen is 29.63 in by 16.67 in — same diagonal, very different shape.
27.54 in. The exact diagonal for a width of 24 in is 27.5363 in, so a 27.54 in screen gives a width of 24.00 in — while 27.53 in gives only 23.99 in.
34.42 in. The exact diagonal for a width of 30 in is 34.4204 in, so a 34.42 in screen is 30.00 in wide — and the smallest table diagonal is 38 in, because a 34 in screen is only 29.63 in wide.
42.71 in wide and 24.02 in tall in 16:9. A 49-inch 16:9 screen is 42.71 × 24.02 in, area 1,025.95 sq in, 108.48 × 61.02 cm, nearest table row 49 in; the 49-inch 21:9 super-ultrawide is 45.04 × 19.30 in, area 869.33 sq in, 114.40 × 49.03 cm, nearest table row 49 in.
No — the diagonal is the screen only. The figures on this page are the viewable screen itself; the bezel adds roughly half an inch to an inch beyond the screen, so measure the whole monitor — bezel included — before checking the fit.
Pick the table row closest to your diagonal. For the default 27-inch screen the nearest row is 27 in; a 27.5-inch screen is nearest 27 in (0.5 away vs 4.5 to 32), and a 30-inch screen is nearest 32 in (2 away vs 3 to 27).
Centimetres are inches times 2.54. For the default screen, 23.53 in is 59.77 cm and 13.24 in is 33.62 cm — every centimetre figure on the page is the inch figure times 2.54, rounded half-up to 2dp.
