Name Picker Wheel
Paste the names, hit spin — the wheel does the deciding, fairly and out loud.
GENERATOR · EVERYDAY · RANDOM
Raffles, classrooms, teams, chores — whenever the fair answer is a random one. Paste the names, hit spin, and the wheel lands on a winner in about three seconds: at the defaults, one of 8 names takes it with every spin provably random. Turn on remove-after-pick and winners sit out until the pool empties — perfect for drafts and chore rotations. No sign-up, nothing leaves your browser.
Paste the names, hit spin — the wheel does the deciding, fairly and out loud.
Every spin runs a Fisher–Yates shuffle — the same algorithm casinos and lotteries use — on your cleaned name list (blank lines dropped, duplicates collapsed, order randomized), then takes the first N entries. The animation is theater: the winner is decided before the wheel starts turning, and the spin is choreographed to land the pointer on that name. With 8 names, each has exactly a 1-in-8 (12.5%) chance per spin; with removal on, a full cycle through all 8 names is guaranteed before anyone repeats.
| Output | Formula | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Winners | Fisher–Yates shuffle → first N of the cleaned list | N unique names, each equally likely. |
| Pool size | unique non-blank lines | The denominator of every probability on the wheel. |
| Remaining (removal on) | pool − picked | Spins left before the wheel refills. |
Randomness comes from your browser’s Math.random() — uniform enough for games, classrooms, and raffles, not for cryptography, lotteries with real money, or anything legally binding. Names never leave your device. Very long lists (hundreds of names) still work, but the segment labels get small — the winner readout stays exact.
Bright Side Kit. "Name Picker Wheel: Spin to Pick a Winner." https://brightoolbox.com/name-picker-wheel/ Accessed October 23, 2026.Each spin shuffles your name list with the Fisher–Yates algorithm and takes the first entries — every name has exactly the same chance, every spin, independent of the last. The animation always lands on the pre-decided winner; it cannot nudge the result. It uses your browser’s built-in random generator, which is uniform for everyday use but not certified for gambling or legal draws.
Turn it on and each winner leaves the pool for later spins — ideal for drafts, chore rotations, or making sure everyone presents once. When the pool empties, the wheel refills automatically and the verdict tells you a new cycle started. Turn it off and every spin draws from the full list, repeats allowed.

Hundreds — there is no hard cap. Past a few dozen, the segment labels shrink, but the spin, the pointer, and the winner readout stay exact. For very large raffles, the winners count goes up to 100 per spin.
